Chorus French Row I'm sitting here, drinking in the atmosphere
St Albans on a Saturday, busking in the alley way
Spare a pound or just one penny
Share a smile if you can't give any
Make this day a celebration, let the music play
Crowds are coming down the alley
Mums and dads with all the family
Grubby faces licking lollies
Zimmer frames and shopping trollies
Sporty types and hairy bikers
Cyclists wearing flashy Lycra
Grannies off to spend their pension
And girls who dress to get attention
Chorus
Sometimes I get competition
By the clock tower more musicians
Morris men with bells and batons
Leap about with funny hats on
Saxophones with jazzy solos
Violinist virtuosos
Peruvian pan pipes playing pop songs
Hare Krishnas with no socks on
Chorus
French row has a great attraction
Even though there are distractions
Friends drop by for conversation
Strangers show appreciation
Its noisy here and every hour
The bell chimes from the old clock tower
Sirens, ringtones, children screaming
Can anybody hear me singing?
Chorus
Let the music play
